Weasel catches a ride on a woodpecker [PHOTOS]

Weasel catches a ride on a woodpecker [PHOTOS], A London photographer snapped a rare photo showing a small weasel catching a ride on a woodpecker. The incredible image, taken in Hornchurch Country Park in East London, captures the weasel in the middle of a what is actually a poorly thought out attack actually.

The photograph was first shared by @Jayward7 on March 2. It was initially thought too good to be believed. That initial post has been retweeted some 10,000 times and social networkers have obsessed over whether the scene was manipulated.

Martin Le-May of Essex said he and his wife, Ann, were walking Monday in Hornchurch Country Park when they came across the unusual sight.

"I heard a distressed squawking noise and feared the worst," Le-May told the BBC. "I soon realized it was a woodpecker with some kind of small mammal on its back."

Le-May said the woodpecker was in a struggle for its life with the unwanted passenger.

"I think we may have distracted the weasel as when the woodpecker landed it managed to escape and the weasel ran into the grass," he said.

Le-May has assured the media that he captured the shot. He has additional photos to back him up.

Experts also seem to think the photo is legitimate. According to Hany Farid, a professor and expert on digital forensics at Dartmouth University in New Hampshire, the low resolution of the image would make it extremely challenging for anyone to fake such a photo. However, it has spawned a number of funny alterations.

Constantly Stoned rabbits in Utah? [AUDIO]

Constantly Stoned rabbits in Utah? [AUDIO], Perpetually stoned rabbits could be a serious consequence for Utah if the use of medical marijuana is legalized in the state, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent Matt Fairbanks warned.

Fairbanks, an agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration's "marijuana eradication" team in Utah, testified to a state Senate panel last week, saying rabbits might get addicted to pot, lose their natural instincts and lay around getting high all the time if a bill passes that would allow medical marijuana edibles in the state.

"I come to represent the actual science, and I come with severe concerns," Fairbanks told the panel. "My concern is regarding the language of growing marijuana, how quickly any type of cash crop can get out of hand. There's no language about cost for enforcement, which would exist regarding protection for the environment."

Fairbanks' rabbit testimony was not enough to keep the bill from being approved by the panel. It will be debated next week by the full State Senate.

He's up for adoption according to the Moultrie Colquitt County Humane Society's Facebook page.

Here's his bio:

Hi! I'm Rami and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm a year old Dachshund/Pit bull mix. Yes, you're reading that right, and, no, you haven't gone crazy. I'm full of energy. I don't like walking on a leash. I'm a sweetie pie, and love to run. I don't listen very well, so you'll need to take some time to train me. Because I tend to be a bit hyper, I might not be the best addition to a household with little kids. But I'm sure that all I need is a little lovin'. Will you take me home?

We sure are hoping this cutie-pie finds a home soon.

Alien-Like Terrifying Frilled Shark Captured [PHOTOS\VIDEO] Off Australia, A rarely seen part-shark,  part-eel hideous hybrid known as a frilled shark was captured off the coast of southeastern Australia in December

Captain David Guillot of the Western Alliance, told Fairfax Radio he didn't quite know what to make of the three-foot-long fish that the Australian Broadcast Corporation said was "deeply unpleasant to look at."

The creature is so rare that no one in southeastern Victoria can even remember seeing — let alone catching — the beast in the past decades, The Examiner reports.

Australia's national science agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), confirmed the fish to be a frilled shark.

AZ Central News reports that these powerful creatures can measure as much as 6-feet long or more, and have ancestors that date back to prehistoric times.

Frilled sharks can usually be found in cool waters, Mark Meekan, a shark biologist at the Australian Institute of Marine Science, told the Sydney Morning Herald

"There are usually three main spots it is found, in waters off New Zealand, near Japan and along the coast of the British Isles, down through Spain into northern Africa," Meekan said. "However, there are some maps that show distributions that encompass the Victorian coast."

Frustrated and Horny Elephant Crushes Cars [VIDEO]

By Tashi Singh

Frustrated and Horny Elephant Crushes Cars [PHOTOS\VIDEO] In Fit Of Rage, A horny, perhaps sexually frustrated elephant crushed a parked car over the weekend in Thailand.

A passerby filmed the destructive meet-and-greet on video at Khao Yai National Park. According to Park chief Kanchit Srinoppawan, the aggressive behavior was likely the result of the mating season. The pachyderm has gone on an extended rampage in a Thai national park, crushing four cars including one with a family inside.

In a video uploaded by the Associated Press on its YouTube channel, we see the elephant delivering his wrath on the bonnet of a car.

In the extended version of the same video, posted by ODN News on its YouTube channel, the elephant can be seen climbing onto the bonnet and using its weight to crush it completely.

The bull elephant has harassed tourists in Khao Yai National Park over the past 10 days, local reports said.

Experts say the aggressive behavior is linked to mating season.

When wildlife attacks! [PHOTO\VIDEO] angry Hippo chases speedboat; Humpback rams whale watching boat, Amazing footage published to YouTube on Sunday shows a hippo chasing a speedboat during a photo safari in Kasane, Botswana.

The hippo follows the boat at breakneck speed, prompting the helmsman to speed up considerably to avoid what seems to be an imminent attack.

Hippos make look clumsy and slow but they can run very fast, and according to the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), they kill nearly 3,000 people every year.

Amazing footage from a whale watching group off the coast of Maui shows a huge humpback whale coming right up to the boat and actually bumping into it.

A group of vacationers went to observe the marine life in their natural habitat and one of them learned the hard way that it is sometimes better to observe from a distance.

While roaming the coast aboard a small boat, the group spotted a mother Humpback whale. A video filmed by one of them testifies of the inhospitable reception by the giant marine creature.

They tracked the humpback from a distance before it turned on them and proceeded to ram into their boat and toss the vessel 5 feet.

Simultaneously, a Humpback “tail-slapped” a woman who was sitting on a whale watching boat off the coast of Mexico. She was not badly hurt.
